Friday Find

I have been lacking in my 'find' posts lately, but for lack of time, not lack of finds. There are always great finds to be had, even if it's just two-for-one pizzas at Wholefoods on Tuesdays (you heard it here).

Weeks ago Devon and I attendes the Joe Fresh Lonsdale store opening party. There were tons of fun new pieces from Joe to peruse with wine in hand - how can you resist cute denim for $19? - but I was most excited by their expanded jewelry collection.

I picked up this truly fantastic necklace at the much less glamorous Superstore Joe Fresh and have yet to find anything it does not look amazing with. A white tee, a striped dress, a black tank, this gold link necklace from Joe was such a find for just $7.

Friday Finds

Frugality is something I've learned over the years and I must admit, I am now rather proud of my creative, thrifty ways. Don't get me wrong, I consider myself a follower of fashion, I see the value in designer items and I love an opportunity to save up for something luxe, but for the most part I don't have the ability, nor the desire, to splurge on my wardrobe each month.

Instead I take advantage of annual sales at my favourite shops, order online, score the sale racks, and have recently been digging designer resale. The same goes for items for my home; I always check Craigslist, HomeSense and second hand shops before shelling out full price for a piece of furniture or an accessory.

So I bring you Friday Finds, a post on something I love for under $50, every Friday. Sometimes these are items will be something I've purchased for myself and sometimes they're just on my wishlist, but I assure you, they'll always be fabulous.

First up, these floral jeans from Joe Fresh.

Printed denim is big again for Spring and at $39 these floral jeans from  were too cute to pass up. I've been wearing them with sweaters and booties and they'll be great in the summer with tees and flip flops. Bonus: I managed to scoop these jeans up AND get my grocery shopping done at the same time!

Ahoy!

I always know Spring is here when nautically influenced clothing pops up on the racks of my favourite stores. Navy & white, khaki, brass and pops of red, nautical is one of my favourite seasonal styles. Nautical for kids is even better. What could be cuter than sailor stripes, teeny Topsiders and an anchor print?

Eloise received some beautiful Petit Saint James clothing from her Grandma Pat for her first birthday. Saint James is a classic French brand that has been making striped Breton fisherman's sweaters in Normandy since the nineteenth century; their clothing is very nautical and very French, so it's pretty darn chic. Eloise's Saint James wardrobe is all pale pink and magenta, I'd call it nautical with a girly twist.

Joe Fresh is all over nautical for Spring and has some seriously adorable gear for babies and kids. My favourites are their striped raincoat, anchor print onesie, nautical flats and "I (anchor) Pirates" sweatshirt.
